Snovalley Pride is thrilled to partner with the GSBA (Greater Seattle Business Alliance) for this FREE Community Education series. Gather with like-minded members of our Valley community to learn ways you can be the best Ally possible! River is an amazing teacher and we are thrilled to host her for her third presentation at Miller’s! We create a safe and welcoming container for you to connect with our community, learn some new information, and ask any questions you might have.

In this third gathering we will discuss:
Intersectionality & Where You Fit
As we come to understand intersecting identities how do we translate that into allowing others to show up as their whole selves in day to day life? What is power and privilege and how can we use it to leverage ourselves against oppression?

Allyship Everywhere
Oppression is a systemic issue that also takes root in our everyday lives. Learn where and when you can incorporate more accessibility and inclusion in your everyday practices. Test out your allyship muscles in real time as we work through active ally scenarios as a group.

Goals
•Discuss the importance of intersectionality as it relates to creating more inclusive spaces.
•Cultivate an understanding of the overlap between privilege and allyship and how to utilize privilege effectively to best support marginalized people.

During our presentation from the GSBA, the floor will be open for you to ask questions to gain a better understanding of these topics. Gather with like-minded people in our Valley community, make new friends, and feel supported as we gain a deeper understanding of these topics together.

This event is FREE to the public because of the generous donations we have received from our community.
Doors open at 6:45pm. Please feel free to bring in food from area restaurants!
