Byland is the moniker and last name of Seattle based, Albuquerque raised, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Alie Renee. Her latest studio record, “GRAY”, is brilliantly “a little weird” and breathes intriguing and often offbeat arrangements. Alie’s cinematic, indie-rock sound is tethered by timeless songwriting and attentive production. Her music is grounded by vocally vulnerable moments that will move you to lean in and open yourself up.

After releasing her studio record, “Gray” in late 2020, Byland received recognition from outlets like KEXP, American Songwriter, and Pop Matters, among others. The record was co-written with her partner, Jacob John and produced by Nathan Yaccino, along with additional mixing by Andy Park. Notable contributors alongside Alie include a lineup of powerful females – Jessica Dobson (Deep Sea Diver), Meagan Grandall (Lemolo), and Abby Gundersen.

After having spent two in Albuquerque, Alie moved back to Seattle in early 2022,
where she is currently working on her second studio record with partner and co-writer, Jake, and Producer, Nathan Yaccino.

Bryan John Appleby is an independent folk artist living and working out of Beacon Hill, Seattle. He regularly tours the western states, performing both solo and with a band. His production pallet draws from elements of psychedelia, wall-of-sound, classic cinema, shoegaze, tropicalia, and mid-century pop.

Since moving to the Pacific Northwest from the Central Coast, he has played and toured with Damien Jurado, Deep Sea Diver, Y La Bamba, The Head and the Heart, Sera Cahoone, Tomo Nakayama, Pure Bathing Culture, and Blitzen Trapper. He also plays drums as a guest member in a variety of West Coast bands including Prism Tats, Tomten, Fine Arts, and K Skelton.

His third full-length album, Underwater Easy Breathing (Plume Records) is now available. Lush, coastal, synth-laced; the album is a natural next step in Appleby’s meandering, often densely layered folk repertoire. In addition to recording most of the record alone in a SODO rehearsal space, significant portions were finished with friends (Dillon Sturtevant, Nicholas Wilbur, Tomten) at the Unknown Studio in Anacortes, WA.
