DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER! \nYou are invited to join Snovalley Pride… and our full cast of SIX sparkling Queens… for a fabulously Fierce Holiday Drag Show on Thursday\, December 11th\, from 7–9pm\, at Miller’s in Carnation! \nWe’re decking the halls (and our heels) with performances by our SIX dazzling Queens: Miss Texas 1988\, Amora Namour\, Macy Marcs\, Holli B. Sinclair\, Celys S. Black\, and Melody Volt Paradisco! Get ready for a night of holly-jolly hilarity\, fierce festive fashion\, and performances so electric they’ll light up your tree! Between sets\, join in on our “Reindeer Games”\, our fun holiday contests and audience shenanigans that will have you sleighing with laughter. \nGot an ugly sweater that would make Santa blush? Well\, wear it and strut your stuff in our Ugly Sweater Parade! Come for the cheer\, stay for the queer because it’s the most wonderful time of the year! \nAs federal cuts place added pressure on local food banks\, Snovalley Pride is answering the call to care for our community. Together\, we’ll help fill pantry shelves and hearts. We ask attendees to our Drag Show to join us in this effort with all donations collected at our Holiday Drag Shows benefit food banks in the upper and lower Valley. \nDrag has a rich cultural history that spans across decades\, it has transformed from a common theatre practice to a political stand against fixed roles of gender and sexuality. Whilst drag has maintained a powerful presence in entertainment\, it also deserves recognition for being an example of an expressive and empowering art form. It is a form of performance and art and should be considered as such. It combines skills of fashion and facial/bodily metamorphosis to create the illusion of a gender. Drag queens exude femininity and female empowerment through their appearance. Ultimately\, drag is about becoming a whole new person\, freed by concepts of gender and sexuality. It is intended to liberate and excite! \nBeer\, wine\, and non-alcoholic beverages available at Miller’s. Food can be brought in from area restaurants. No outside drinks please. \nDoors open at 6pm\, Shows begin at 7pm. All Ages Shows.
