DESCRIPTION:Sera Cahoone is a long way from home. Growing up the daughter of a dynamite salesman in the Colorado foothills\, she got her start on the drums at 11. A year later\, her skills had become so promising\, her mom started taking her to dive bars to sit in with the scruffy old bluesmen. By the time she even picked up a guitar\, she had been so shaped by these things – the dynamite\, the blues\, the woods and the hills – it’s no surprise she went on to earn a reputation as one of the strongest songwriters in Seattle’s ever-vibrant Americana scene. \nShe moved north in 1998 to open a snowboard/skateboard shop but quickly found herself backing lo-fi outfit Carissa’s Weird on drums. Since that band split in ‘03\, she’s lent her sticks to folks as variant as Carolina rockers Band of Horses\, Seattle blues chick Betsy Olson\, and singer-songwriter Patrick Park. But in 2006 she struck out on her own with a self-titled debut which immediately scored praise from local and national tastemakers alike. \nContemporary American Roots Seattle based singer/songwriter Tekla Waterfield writes conscious and observational point-of-view lyrics\, presented through the lens of her soft\, soulful and dynamic vocals. DESCRIPTION:Come help us kick off the Carnation 4th of July festivities with The Dusty 45’s on our new outdoor stage! \nThe Dusty 45s have inspired and fired up crowds for over two decades to the delight of fans and critics alike. With their signature style and unique sound\, the band is a consistently powerful and energetic player in the Americana field. \nThe band was founded in 1997 by charismatic singer/songwriter\, guitarist and trumpeter\, Billy Joe Huels. Huels’ songs draw inspiration from the roots of rock\, rhythm and blues\, honky-tonk and jazz. The quartet also features award winning blues guitarist\, Rod Cook\, Robin Cady (upright bass) and Kohen Burrill (Drums). \nThe Dusty 45s have toured extensively. They backed Rock and Roll Hall of famer\, Wanda Jackson many times\, including when they joined her for Adele’s “21” tour in 2011. The band has shared the stage with Brandi Carlile\, Lyle Lovett\, John Prine\, The Ventures\, Lucinda Williams\, Leann Rhymes and Dick Dale\, to name a few. In 2007\, Huels received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Buddy Holly at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre. In 2019\, he interviewed PBS “Country Music “documentarian\, Ken Burns\, at Meany Hall in front of a sold-out audience. The Dusty 45s have released 7 recordings. The 2014 album\, “Live and On Fire”\, showcases the best of their bold and brassy sound recorded live at the Triple Door in Seattle\, WA. Huels and the band are currently working on a new recording to be released in 2023.

DESCRIPTION:Snoqualmie Valley Line Dancing instructor Amanda Johnson has been country dancing for 12 years and loves any opportunity to share her passion for it with others. She met her husband through line dancing 10 years ago\, and they have dreamed of starting a country dance night in the Snoqualmie Valley since they first moved to the area. Amanda has been building a line dance community for years through her classes at Si View and is so excited to finally make that dream a reality at Miller’s! \nThe evening will begin with instruction followed by open dance. \n*Tickets are nonrefundable\, unless show is cancelled\, or rescheduled.  If you cannot attend a show\, tickets can be transferred from purchaser to another individual\, or individuals. Tickets purchased for a specific event cannot be transferred to a different event. \nBeer\, wine\, and non-alcoholic beverages available.  Food can be brought in from area restaurants.  No outside drinks please.
