DESCRIPTION:Snovalley Pride is thrilled to partner with the GSBA (Greater Seattle Business Alliance) for three Community Education Events! You are invited to join us for this FREE community event where we will learn about specific LGBTQ+ topics and have an opportunity for Q&A to get your questions answered! \n\nWe will kick off this series with THREE topics for our first discussion:\nWhat do you Mean Gender?\nExplore the Gender Unicorn together to understand the difference in gender expression\, gender identity\, and sexual orientation. Busting the myth that only some folks think about gender. \nPronouns 101\nRelearn what pronouns are\, and what role they play in our everyday language. Learn how to introduce yourself with your pronouns and learn how and when to ask for others. \nCurrent Climate for LGBTQ+ Folks\nMarriage equality was affirmed by the Supreme Court in 2015\, but how does this translate into our community? Bathroom bills never seem to stop trending and what does gender X even mean? Explore the larger picture of LGBTQ+ issues and where we are going next. \nGoals\n-Understand the difference between gender\, sexuality\, gender expression\, and gender identity.\n-Learn how to use\, ask for\, and explain pronouns.\n-Learn how to react after accidentally misgendering someone. \nAfter our presentation from the GSBA\, the floor will be open for you to ask questions to gain a better understanding of these topics. Gather with like-minded people in our Valley community\, make new friends\, and feel supported as we gain a deeper understanding of these topics together. \n\nThis event is FREE to the public because of the generous donations we have received from our community.\nNo need for a ticket\, just show up for open seating (tables & couches are on a first come\, first served basis).\nFeel free to bring in food from area restaurants. Doors open at 6pm. Talk begins at 7pm. \nEquality is good business.\nAll Ages Event.
