Reminiscent of artists Lana Del Ray and Brandi Carlile\, she blends the lines between indie/pop and americana/folk as she writes about childhood trauma\, the intricacies of family dynamics\, connection to the natural world as well as a fan-favorite: love. \nAlec Shaw is a singer/songwriter and producer raised in the foothills of the cascades in Washington State\, garnering attention as an artist whose sound has developed into a soulful combination of two large worlds of musical influence rooted in gospel and Appalachian folk. SUMMARY:The Dusty 45s
DESCRIPTION:The Dusty 45s have inspired and fired up crowds for over two decades to the delight of fans and critics alike. With their signature style and unique sound\, the band is a consistently powerful and energetic player in the Americana field. \nThe band was founded in 1997 by charismatic singer/songwriter\, guitarist and trumpeter\, Billy Joe Huels. Huels’ songs draw inspiration from the roots of rock\, rhythm and blues\, honky-tonk and jazz. The quartet also features award winning blues guitarist\, Rod Cook\, Robin Cady (upright bass) and Kohen Burrill (Drums). \nThe Dusty 45s have toured extensively. They backed Rock and Roll Hall of famer\, Wanda Jackson many times\, including when they joined her for Adele’s “21” tour in 2011. The band has shared the stage with Brandi Carlile\, Lyle Lovett\, John Prine\, The Ventures\, Lucinda Williams\, Leann Rhymes and Dick Dale\, to name a few. In 2007\, Huels received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Buddy Holly at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre. In 2019\, he interviewed PBS “Country Music “documentarian\, Ken Burns\, at Meany Hall in front of a sold-out audience. The Dusty 45s have released 7 recordings. The 2014 album\, “Live and On Fire”\, showcases the best of their bold and brassy sound recorded live at the Triple Door in Seattle\, WA. Black\, Macy Marcs\, Holli B. Sinclair\, and Melody Lush Paradisco will perform for you\, and in between their sets we will host fun festive games with audience participation! Do you have an ugly festive sweater? Well\, wear it and compete in our Ugly Festive Sweater Contest! A Grand Prize will be awarded for the best one too! \nThe festive spirits will be flowing\, both on stage and in your glasses! So\, don your favorite ugly sweater\, and come on down to Miller’s for a night where reindeer games have nothing on the fun we’ll be having. It’s not just winter that’s coming… the most spectacular show in Carnation\, WA is on its way! \nDrag has a rich cultural history that spans across decades\, it has transformed from a common theatre practice to a political stand against fixed roles of gender and sexuality. Whilst drag has maintained a powerful presence in entertainment\, it also deserves recognition for being an example of an expressive and empowering art form. It is a form of performance and art and should be considered as such. It combines skills of fashion and facial/bodily metamorphosis to create the illusion of a gender. Drag queens exude femininity and female empowerment through their appearance. Ultimately\, drag is about becoming a whole new person\, freed by concepts of gender and sexuality. It is intended to liberate and excite! \nYou have an option to reserve a table for 4 guests. Reserved Table Tickets are $120 for 4 people ($30 per person).\nIndividual tickets are $25 and you will have your choice of first come\, first served seats around Miller’s. \nDoors open at 6pm\, Show begins at 7pm.
